At Love Outreach Mission (LOM), we believe Thanksgiving is more than just a meal — it’s a moment of hope. It’s the warmth of knowing someone cares enough to help you feed your family. That’s why we’re preparing for our 2025 LOM Turkey Drive on Saturday, November 22, where we’ll bless hundreds of families with a full Thanksgiving meal — turkey, trimmings, and all.
But we can’t do it without you.Your $25 donation can provide a turkey and the fixings for a family in need. Together, we can make sure no one in our community goes hungry this Thanksgiving. Every dollar makes a difference, every gift brings hope, and every act of kindness reminds someone that they are seen and loved.
A Taste of Gratitude: Sweet Potato Casserole
If you’re looking for a simple, comforting recipe to share at your own Thanksgiving table, here’s one of our favorites — full of warmth, sweetness, and the spirit of the season.
Ingredients:
4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 4 large)
½ cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
½ cup milk
½ cup melted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
Topping:
½ cup brown sugar
⅓ cup flour
⅓ cup melted butter
1 cup chopped pecans
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Mix sweet potatoes, sugar, eggs, milk, butter, and vanilla until smooth. Spread into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, butter, and pecans. Sprinkle over the sweet potato mixture.
Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling.
The result? A dish that tastes like comfort and feels like gratitude.
